Tada! This will be my fourth day of wear and I am impressed. The size is true, the construction is great, it is warm and the shoe is instantly comfortable in both thick and thin socks. The balance issues are nil and it seriously does not look ridiculous or like a big orthopedic shoe. As for its toning qualities, obviously, time will tell. After the first day of wear my posture was improved while wearing them and my calves were a little tired the next day, but that could happen from any new shoe really. It even was comfortable after 13 hours of wear. Regarding the claimed toning capabilities, because I don't feel my muscles clenching and adjusting while I'm moving or standing I highly doubt... It was kind of a struggle to put them on, because of the stiff and narrow shaft... I think the materials used are more for a snow resistant kind of shoe, which this is not supposed to be.
