I need to buy only half a size bigger for my wide-high-instep feet. I had them for 10 year,and,as the previous reviewer stated, also not going anywhere without my Altinas: my feet feel great on longest trips. Recently, I've bought a new pair of Altinas, this time in nubuk, and was a little disappointed: they stretch too much, which makes your foot slide back and forth a little during walking. But maybe it's just my experience. This review is from: Mephisto Women's Altina Sandal (Apparel) I have ordered and worn these shoes for many years. This is my fourth pair. As with so many other things, the quality is not the same anymore. I have had both the black and the brown, and the brown seems to last longer than the black. On the black, the footbed is very soft and the fabric wears away more quickly. Also, the arch support is not as good on this pair as it has been in previous pairs I have bought. They are expensive shoes and I will keep them because they are great for Florida and are my go-to shoes all during warm weather (which is about 7 months); however, their value to cost is starting to deteriorate in my opinion. During those 12 years that original pair has traveled the world. The style works as well in cities as on safari. They accommodate sox (for colder or air travel days) without stretching. They recover from wet landings (as from Zodiacs) and city puddles with no special attention. They weigh less than many sport sandals and have lower heels than almost all sport sandals (nice, if you are tall or packing tight). They are the only sandals I've ever worn that can handle miles of trails or sidewalks and inflict no foot, blister, or leg pain. They really are the best travel sandals in the world!
